Hello! I’m Virginia Boutwell. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BFA in Art & Technology in 2024. I have been thoroughly invested in the arts since I was very small.  Themes that have inspired me my whole life are the mind, the spirit, geometry, love, and humor. I love the classics. I hope to one day produce something with the same technical skill and academic grandeur as van Eyck, or something with the monumental sincerity of af Klint’s Ten Largest. These artists live as commentators in my head. I look back to them often, but I believe it is equally as important to look forward. I am navigating life as meticulous creative in a rapid and technological landscape. With my practice, I aim to encourage a dialogue between traditionalist themes and icons of the contemporary. Bringing together the old and the new, and by shortening the distance between the classical and the vulgar.
