Hello! I’m Virginia Boutwell. I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BFA in Art & Technology in 2024. Themes that have inspired me my whole life are the mind, the spirit, geometry, love, and humor. I am navigating a rapid landscape with a meticulous practice.

I love the great fine artists of the past; particularly Francis Bacon, Odilon Redon, and Van Gogh. Hilma af Klint is my ride or die.

Spirituality through a futurist’s lens.

I am also heavily inspired by outsider art, like Henry Darger and Adolf Wölfli. Alongside other outside/camp/kitsch/punk greats like the Space Lady, John Waters, and Frank Kozik.

With all of these influences, as well as the endless stream of media I see everyday, I am bringing together the old and the new. The goal is to shorten the distance between the classical and the vulgar.
